Our appointment was way out East and it took me forever to get there. When I got to the exit, it was closed! I had to call my mom and have her give me directions from the next exit, but I still got lost! I finally found the place and got there before Rob. I checked in and sat down. I nervously waited for Rob while I eyeballed all of the other pregnant ladies. After about 10 minutes Rob showed up and shortly after we called back in to the room.
The nurse that came in was the same one who I had for my annual exam, which apparently I was pregnant at, but I had no idea. She laughed and said, you must have been pregnant at the last appointment! She led us across the hall to the sonogram room which is where Dr. Lopez met us. Dr. Lopez said, "Well, that didn't take long!" I had told her at my last appointment that we had gone off the pill and were going to try to get pregnant in the summer. She had written me a prescription for prenatal vitamins so I could get my body ready. Apparently, my body was already ready!!!
Finally it was time for the sonogram. We couldn't really see anything, but it was just exciting to know that the baby was really there! I was really growing a little baby inside me. I couldn't believe it! She gave us a picture to keep.
After the sonogram I had to have blood drawn. I hate having blood drawn. They also gave us a goody bag of stuff. We got some baby magazines, coupons for baby stuff, a book about Wesley's Birthing Center, etc.
After we left we decided to go get some lunch at Jimmy's Diner. I took one picture there, and it's not that great. It's Rob picking some music for us to listen to on the little jukebox at the table. Lunch was good, but of course, I was feeling kind of sick, so I didn't eat all of mine. After we ate, Rob got to go home for the rest of the day while I had to work for the rest of the afternoon. I decided then that the rest of the appointments should be in the afternoon!
