I hate needles!

Shortly after I was born, Mom and Dad got a letter in the mail that the hospital hadn't drawn my blood correctly for my newborn screening tests so I had to have it redone. They weren't very happy because the nurse had done it twice at the hospital and it really hurt me.

Mom and Dad had to take me to the doctor's office to get my blood drawn. The good part about going to the doctor was finding out how much I weighed and how long I was. I now weigh 10 lbs and 5.5 oz and I'm 21 3/4 inches long. That means I've gained almost 3 lbs and 3 inches! I'm really growing! That made Mommy happy!

After the fun part of finding out how big I was, it was time for the bad part. First the nurse put a hot pack on my foot to numb it a little bit.

Then the nurse pricked my heel and squeezed and squeezed to get blood out of it. She was so slow that it dried up and she had to prick my other heel. It was awful! I sure hope I don't have to have it done again. I think if they do, Daddy might go off on someone! At least that's what he was saying that day!!
